| JMC clears 41 building permission cases | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 21: A meeting of Building Operation Controlling Authority of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) was held today under the Chairmanship of Commissioner, JMC, Jammu. In the meeting, as many as 50 building permission cases were examined, out of which 41 were cleared. The other members of Building Operation Controlling Authority besides Joint Commissioner (Administration), Joint Commissioner (Works) and Senior Town Planner of Jammu Municipal Corporation attended the meeting. The building permissions cases cleared today shall generate revenue of Rs 10.50 lakh for the Corporation. Besides, while intensifying and further continuing the drive to implement the ban on the use of polythene carry bags, the Enforcement field staff led by the Chief Enforcement Officer inspected the shops and other outlets in the areas of Narwal Bye-pass, Nai Basti and Gandhi Nagar. During inspection, the team seized about 25 Kgs of polythene carry bags from the shopkeepers, vendors and others outlets in these areas. An amount of Rs 5000 was charged as fine from 19 defaulters on spot who were using the polythene carry bags. The team also made the people aware of the ban imposed by the state government on the use of polythene bags and they were requested to discard its use and adopt alternate arrangements to carry their commodities.
