| JKTUF deputation calls on Governor | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 21: A deputation of the Jammu Kashmir Tribals United Front, Jammu called on the Governor, N.N. Vohra, at Raj Bhavan, here today and submitted a Memorandum of their demands. The deputationists stressed that the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services Decentralization and Recruitment Bill - 2009 were unconstitutional and in conflict with subsisting rulings of the Supreme Court.
They emphasized the constitutional imperative of the obtaining reservations being enforced only as per law as any deviation, as in the proposed Bill, shall have an adverse consequence for the Scheduled Tribes which are not evenly spread in all parts of the State.
The deputation led by President of the Forum, Roshan Din Choudhary, comprised Zabeer Ahmed Bajjar, Shah Mohammad, Prof. Mohammad Zaman, Khalid Mustafa Bhatti, Khursheed Ul Islam and Haq Nawaz Choudhary.
The Governor gave a patient hearing to the deputation.
