Police registers case against saver accused

Police station Pacca Danga registered a case against seven person who assaulted a couple and their child near distt Jail, Ambphalla on October 11, after meeting their mother lodged in the Jail.
As already reported in ‘Early Times’ on Oct 12, 2006 the husband of wife and their five year old child were severely beaten by some person who came in Toyota Qualis vehicle and motor cycle. The couple after meeting their mother in the Jail were proceeding towards general bus stand to catch a bus for Rajouri, to reach their destination village Siot. The accused who were seven in number stopped them and start beating them also tried to kidnap his wife and child, but failed in their attempt, as the couple male hue and cry and passerby came to their help. But the persons in the car snatched a golden chain and a bag containing some clothes and 8, 000/- in cash.
The victims Kewal Krishan along with his wife and child rushed to Pacca Danga police station and informed authorities about the whole episode, but did not register the case.
It was after highlighting the matter in present media including ‘Early Times’, that police register case against seven accused after police was able to recover the vehicle used in the attack, registered under No JK-02-9099 along with the driver. During interrogation driver disclosed the names of accused, identified as Harbans Lal, Alok Sharma, Koushal Sharma, Santosh Kumari, and Menika Sharma, all residents of Rohi-Morh, Lower Gadi- Garh Vicky of Sunderbani and Madhu Sharma R/o Nai- Basti, Jammu. Acse u/s 341/382 R.P.C under FIR No. 151/2006 has been registered against them. The SHO on telephone while talking to Early Times said police is after the culprits and will arrest them soon and investigation is going on.
