| Pensioners protest again, raise pending demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 21: J&K Pensioners Association held protest dharma at Rani Park in order to express resentment against the Govt for not conceding their demands. Dharna was held under Presidentship of Govind Ram Sharma, Convenor who accused State Govt of adopting dictatorial attitude towards pensioners' demands. Association appealed the State Govt to fulfill the demands of pensioners as projected earlier so that the pensioners could heave a sigh of relief. Pensioners demanded arrears for revision of pension w.e.f. 01-01-2006 in one installment without further delay, medical allowance to be enhanced to Rs 1000 per month, 6% DA arrears from 01-01-2009 to 30-06-2009 be released in favour of the state pensioners immediately, 5% D.A sanctioned wide Govt order no 11-F dated 8-1-2010 was due to be paid in the month of April 2010, quality service be reduced from 30 years to 20 years on the pattern of Central Govt, 8% DA installment be sanctioned in favour of state pensioners, family pensioners etc. N.D Sharma, Ram Lal Sharma, OP Gupta, RL Raina, Kamal Bhardwaj and others spoke on the occasion.
