| Two militant sympathisers held in Kishtwar | | | JAMMU: Two militant sympathisers, who had links with Pakistan occupied Kashmir-based Harkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami (HUJI) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorists, were today arrested by police from Kishtwar town. Identified as Tariq Ahmad Chandel and Mohammad Amin, both residents of Chingam, Kishtwar, they were in constant touch with the PoK-based HUJI and HM militants and often spoke to them on their cellphones, police sources said. Both of them were active for the past several years, the sources added. Sources said HUJI and HM militants often made calls on their cellphone No 9858946351. The SIM of this mobile phone was issued from Kishtwar town in the name of Mohammad Amin of Chingam, Kishtwar. The PoK-based militants made frequent calls on 9858946351from their Pakistani cellphone Nos -- 923319719215,925126156332 and 923455976533. During interrogation, Chandel and Amin told police that the calls from PoK were being made by HM's Mohammad Farooq Chandel, son of Abdul Ghani Chandel of Ramban and HUJI's Mohammad Qasim code Qasim of Poonch. The duo had crossed over to PoK in 2001-02 to receive training in the handling of arms and ammunition and since then they had been operating from there. Sources said Mohammad Farooq Chandel was Tariq's real brother. The interrogation of both the militant sympathisers was in progress.
