| Complete all ongoing water supply schemes first: Taj | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 22: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud- Din today stressed upon the engineers to prioritize completion of ongoing water supply schemes instead of taking up new ones. Reviewing the availability of drinking water in Basohli area of Kathua district today, the Minister said the aim of the policy is to clear the backlog of pending water supply schemes and cover more and more areas. He stressed the need for augmenting the sources of water supply schemes so as to make them viable for times to come. Stressing the need for conserving water resources, Minister asked the engineers to supplement the conventional water sources with ground water potential to cover all the uncovered areas. The meeting was told that at present 48 hand pumps have been installed in Basohli town. MLA, Basohli, Jagdish Raj Spolia, Chief Engineer, PHE, Jammu, Dileep Bakhshi and other officers attended the meeting.
