| Swami Vivekananda hostel excels in badminton, TT | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 22: Swami Vivekananda Hostel excelled in two of the three events winning badminton and table tennis titles in the inter-hostel boys' competitions of the University of Jammu held at Gymnasium Hall, here today.
In badminton, Swami Vivekananda Hostel defeated Boys Hostel Old Campus 2-1. The Results: Lovejeet Singh bt Ajay Lakhotra 21-16. Mukesh lost to Sandeep Abrol 14-21. Doubles: Lovejeet and Mukesh trounced the pair of Sandeep and Ajay 21-17, 21-18.
The table tennis title also went to Vivekananda Hostel after the side defeated Old Campus 2-0. While Lovejeet Singh beat Naveed Anjum in easy straight sets 11-1, 11-3, Abhinav Sharma registered win over Ajay 11-4, 11-1 without facing any resistance. In carrom, the Boys Hostel Old Campus emerged winner beating Swami Vivekananda 2-0. Naveen defeated Laksh while Sadaqat Ali trounced Mudassir Zubair.
Today's matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Meenakshi, Sunaina and Rakesh Verma.
Meanwhile, according to PTI Campus, Romesh Sharma the three-day sports meet for officers and teachers is scheduled to start from April 26 at the Gymnasium Hall of the University of Jammu.
