| NCP concerned of vanishing water bodies | | | early times report Jammu, Apr 22: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Randhir Singh demanded quick formation and implementation of Tawi River action plan to save this holy stream from extinction. Addressing media person, Singh emphasized that master plan should cover the treatment of entire catchment area from Seoj Dhar in Bhaderwah right up to the Border Jammu and enforcing strict ban on dumping of Mulba and releasing of sewerage into this river. He added that a project needs to be prepared for development and beautification of river Tawi front on the pattern of river Jhelum. Singh called for preparing time bound implementation, conservation projects for the Basantar, Chenab, Surinsar, Mansar and other water bodies in Jammu and immediate closure of all hazardous and polluting industries to save environment from hazardous pollution. Meanwhile, Singh welcomed Rajesh Gupta into the NCP who joined the party today. He was the senior Vice President J&K Youth Congress. Among those who were present on the occasion included J A Khan, Prof G M Pal, Amar Singh, Prof P D Shastri, Amrit Sagar and others.
