| JSM criticizes CM's statements | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 23: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) has strongly criticized the recent statements of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah which it alleged are causing demoralizing effect not only on the peace loving people of the state but the security forces and the agencies working for restoring normalcy in J&K. In a press handout, Prof Virender Gupta, President JSM has alleged that CM's statements are sending wrong signals to the militants and the secessionist elements. He said on one hand, Abdullah repeatedly talks of zero tolerance towards human rights violations, punishing the police men and the security personnel who violate the zero tolerance norms set by himself and on the other hand he not only wants sympathetic treatment for the paid stone throwers but is coming out with their rehabilitation policy for giving them government jobs; thus sending the message to the unemployed youth of J&K that stone throwing is the best way to get government employment. Gupta said that Omar's recent statement that "Kashmiri blood is not that cheap" is a provoking one and uncalled for and shows how he regards the blood of the personnel of all the security forces, who are sacrificing their lives regularly and being made a target by these militants and the secessionist elements. JSM leader said that he has never so far come out against violence perpetuated against the common people, disruption of normal life, indulgence in anti India and secessionist activities. Contrary to this he talks of rehabilitation of those indulged or indulging in militant activities, those who have crossed over to Pakistan for gun training and indulged in subversive activities and raging war against J&K and Indian Sovereignty.
