| Teacher arrested for molesting woman | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU: For his alleged act of molesting a woman, a government school teacher was arrested at Jakhed near Basantgarh in Udhampur Thursday.
Police sources identified the accused as Noor Mohammad, a teacher in a government school at Jakhed.
Sources said Vaishno Devi of Jakhed had gone to her fields to cut grass for cattle when Noor allegedly molested her.
The women shouted for help. Hearing her screams, when some locals reached the spot, they saw Noor fleeing the spot, the sources added.
Though the villagers chased him, he managed to escape. The people later approached the concerned police station and lodged a complaint against Noor.
Noor was later arrested by police. A case of molestation under sections 354, 341, 506 and 34 of RPC was registered against him.
Villagers of Dudu and Basantgarh area appealed to the Udhampur district administration to take strong action against the accused teacher against whom the police had registered second case of molestation within a month.
