| Two cheats arrested from city | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 23: Two alleged cheats, who had taken by fraud Rs 1.5 lakh from an unemployed youth on the pretext of providing him a job in railways, were today arrested by police from Nawabad area. Police sources said Balwan Singh and Shyam Singh assured Pankaj Kumar to provide him a job of ticket checker in railways if he paid them Rs 1.5 lakh. Pankaj gave them the money. However, even after the passage of six months, when they failed to manage the job for him, he got suspicious of them. Sources said when the duo demanded Rs 22,000 more from him, he lodged a complaint against them with the Bakshi Nagar police station. Acting on the complaint, police laid a trap and arrested them at a Car Bazar at Nawabad where Pankaj worked. While Pankaj hailed from Bakshi Nagar, the two accused hailed from Rai Suchaini. A case under relevant sections of law was registered against them at the Bakshi Nagar police station.
