| Birthday turns into deathday: youth commits suicide | | | Early times Report JAMMU, Apr 24: The 23rd birthday of a youth today turned out to be his deathday as he was found hanging from the ceiling fan hook in the kitchen of his house near Reshamghar here under mysterious circumstances. It was 23rd birthday of Ankush Jamwal, son of Rajinder Jamwal, today. However, much to the shock of his family and close friends, his body was found hanging from the ceiling fan hook in their kitchen at about 6 am. He worked in a chemist shop at Bakshi Nagar. Family sources said he came home at Mazdoor Basti, Reshamghar, at about 9.30 pm on Friday. As usual, he took dinner and went to his room to sleep, the sources added. Sources said when a family elder went to the kitchen in the morning, he found Ankush's body hanging from the ceiling fan hook. The family members then removed the body to the nearby Government Medical College hospital where doctors pronounced him brought dead. After post-mortem, the body was handed over to his family members for last rites. Police had registered a case in this connection. "We are investigating the incident and further progress will be made only after we receive the post-mortem report," a police officer said. When contacted, owner of the chemist shop, in which Ankush worked, said he left for home as usual last night and looked normal. "Ankush was not under any mental stress," he added. The officer said police were likely to question the chemist shop owner and other boys who worked in the shop during the course of their investigation in the case.
