| Vodafone dealer held for selling SIMs on fake documents | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 24: Running illegal business of selling Vodafone SIMs just opposite to the Gangyal police station, a dealer today fell in police trap.He was alleged to have sold 2,000 odd SIMs to unknown persons on fake documents. Over 60 activated Vodafone SIMs, fake documents and fake stamps were allegedly recovered during searches in his shop, police sources said. Sources said Anil Kumar of Gangyal was running the illegal business of selling Vodafone SIMs in his shop situated just opposite to the Gangyal police station. The shop was raided today on a tip-off provided by an intelligence agency, the sources added. Anil was alleged to have sold SIMs at the higher rate of Rs 300 per SIM. During interrogation, he allegedly told police that most of his customers were from the hilly areas of Doda, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Rajouri and Poonch. Police were sure that most of the the SIMs sold by him on the basis of fake documents had landed in the hands of militants and their sympathisers.
