| Car lifters' gang busted, three arrested | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 24: Busting a car lifters' gang, police arrested three gang members for stealing vehicles from the parking areas of busy markets in the city. Four cars, including two Maruti 800s, one WagonR and one Santro, were recovered from them, police sources said. A special team was constituted following reports that a gang of car lifters was active in the city, the sources said. After a detailed investigation, a police team led by sub-inspector Parvez Sajjad, SHO of Bus Stand police station, was able to lay hands on three of the gang members. Sources identified them as Parvez Ahmad of Kishtwar, Mohammad Younis and Aftab Ahmad, both residents of Surankote.They were allegedly involved in a number of car lifting incidents in the city, including one at Bagh-e-Bahu.Their sustained interrogation was in progress. Police hoped to recover more stolen cars at their instance. Meanwhile, another vehicle lifter by arrested by police at Pouni Chak while he was going on his motorcycle (JK02AE/4604). He was identified as Vijay Kumar of Gho Manasan.
