| Nagar Kirtan of Baba Banda on May 11 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 24: To commemorate the celebrations of 'Vijay Divas' of Fatehgarh Sahib by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, Nagar Kirtan of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur would be taken out from his birth place Rajouri on May 11 for Sirhind Sahib, Punjab. Announcing this in a press conference, Minister Agriculture Punjab and Incharge State SAD Sucha Singh Langeh said Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Amritsar is going to celebrate Vijay Diwas of Fatehgarh Sahib of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Sirhind, Punjab from May 12-14. 'In this connection 'Vijay March' in the shape of 'Nagar Kirtan' will commence from Rajouri, the birth place of this great warrior on May 11 and will culminate at Sirhind on May 13 2where main function will be held with two night halts enroute one each at Jammu and Amritsar', he informed. Langeh said he visited Jammu along with team comprising of Jathedar Bakshish Singh, Ex-Member SGPC, Rattan Singh, Member Dharam Parchar Committee, Master Johar Singh- Ex-MLA and Paramvir Singh, Director Agro Punjab to over see the arrangements made for this historical events. He said they also interact with members of JKSGPB, DGPC besides higher ups in the government. They assured fullest support for this historic event. He appealed the state government to open educational institution on the name of Banda Singh Bahadur and two gates of Baba Bahadur Singh- one on Jammu-Rajouri route and one at Lakhanpur in memory of Banda Singh Bahadur.
