| Cheten Diyan Galiyan' kindle spark of human rejuvenation | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 24: A book of collection of Dogri essays entitled 'Cheten Diyan Galiyan'- (lanes of memories) written by Prof Lalit Magotra was released here on Saturday. The book presents a deep insight into the panoramic view of Jammu of old days. It also reflects the author's reflection about his intimate observation with the variegated aspects of Jammu's perspective which is clinically and effectively penned down in the form of small anecdotes. "These are my personnel essays," says Lalit Magotra while describing the book in a wholesome totality. Former Chief Secretary S S Bloeria, who unveiled the book on the occasion, described Lalit Magotra's works as artful endeavors and creations that are very closely knitted to human perception about life in transitional shifts through the ages. "It has a collage of exquisitely written pieces of prose depicting the reminiscences of the author pertaining to life, which existed 40-50 years back in Jammu," said Bloeria while highlighting the goodness of the book. The chief guest Ashok Angurana, principal secretary, PHE department, Irrigation and Flood Control in his address said, "This reminded me of my childhood adolescent period which I had spent in Jammu," adding that he could identify many of the characters and incidents described in Prof Magotra's book. Prof Magotra read a few short essays from the book which covered his reflections and contemplation over a wide range and variety of different aspects of life. Earlier Prof Shashi Pathania, Head, Post Graduate Department of Dogri, University of Jammu presented a paper on critical appreciation of the released book whereas Prof Veena Gupta, general secretary Dogri Sanstha presented vote of thanks.
