| JKPL T20: NCC, JCC qualify for league round | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 24: National Cricket Club (NCC) and Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) today qualified for the next round league competition, to be held in Srinagar, winning their respective group finals in the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Premier League Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at different venues, here. While NCC made it to the league round from group-A, JCC qualified from group B. Earlier, in the group finals, played today, NCC trounced International Cricket Club (ICC) comfortably by eight wickets. Batting first, after winning the toss, ICC bowled out for 87 in 19.3 overs, which, in reply, NCC chased in 14.4 overs for the loss of two wickets. Nawshad was top scorer with 37 runs in his account coming with the help of three boundaries and a six. From NCC, Deepak Manhas, Nitin Mehra and Pranav Mahajan shared three wickets. Later, NCC reached the required total making 89 runs in 14.4 overs with eight wickets in hand. Kavaljeet Singh made maximum 38 runs while Ranjit Bali and Ved Parkash contributed 20 and 16 runs respectively. From ICC, Nawshad Ali took both the wickets lost by NCC. For his superb spell wherein he took away three wickets giving away just seven runs in four overs, Deepak Manhas was adjudged man of the match. Meanwhile, in group-B final, JCC registered win over Diamond Sports beating latter by five wickets. Batting first, after JCC won the toss and opted to field, Diamond Club made 113 runs losing all their wickets. Chamkor Singh played unbeaten innings of 52 (off 44 balls, 4x4, 1x6) runs while Ajit Pal Singh and Balwinder Singh added 18 and 10 runs respectively. From JCC, Rahil Singh was most successful bowler with five wickets, followed by Vijay Dogra, who took two and Vishwajeet one. Batting second, JCC chased the total in 18 overs for the loss of five wickets. Sandeep Singh was top scorer with 49-ball 59 runs while Vivek Singh and Vijay Dogra added 22 and 14 runs respectively. Parmeet Singh clinched three wickets while Swarn Singh took one. For his five wickets haul, Rahil Singh was declared man of the match.
