| SSA awareness rally held | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Apr 24: Volunteers of National Social Services (NSS) of the Vivekananda College of Education organised Corner play, Skits, Group Dances and Group Songs in Government Middle School at village Lower Maha and in open ground at village Jagatpura to spread awareness among people and students about Sarv Siksha Abhiyaan(SSA). Besides encourage children to get educated and to eradicate menace of illiteracy from the society. It was flagged off by Chairman Vivekananda College Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Gupta and led Principal Vivekananda College of Education Dr. Anju Sharma. Students performed several plays like 'Balika Siksha' and others along with cultural programme depicting the importance of the education of women and disadvantages of the child labour and illiteracy. All cultural activities and plays were full of themes and encouragement for educating the people. Each and every item presented in the programme gave the message of "Education for all". During programme a mammoth gathering was present. Clapping and chanting the slogans to eradicate the illiteracy, and 'Sarv Siksha Abhiyaan Apanana Hai Bacho ko Padana Hai Aur Behatar Samaj Banana Hai'. On the occasion ZEO Kamala Dogra was the chief guest who appreciated rural public and requested them to stop discrimination with girl child and provide equal opportunities to both sexes. The motive to aware the people for educating their children was fulfilled. Vote of thanks presented by NSS Co-ordinator Rishu Atri.
