| Bhoorang foundation releases 'DVD' on Kashmiri poet 'Shad' | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 24: A digital video disc (DVD) on the life of well know Kashmir poet, Pt. Prem Nath Shad was released at Abhinav theatre in presence of large number of people which include winters, intellectuals, scholars and prominent citizens.
Secretary J&K cultural academy, Zaffar Manhas who presented shawl and bouquet to Prem Nath Shad on the occasion appreciated the efforts of Bhoorang foundation in helping the projection of Kashmir culture and the role of poets and its percolation down to the younger generation living outside the state.
Patron Bhoorang, MLC Vijay Bakaya in his address spoke about the importance of cultural aspect of a society and need to preserve its ethos and idioms in right perspective. While appreciating the sincere and selfless efforts by Prof. Rawal, producer and member Bhoorang foundation, Bakaya felt the need of framing a panel of five members of repute who would help in short listing the personalities for the project (profile for progeny).
The programme was augmented with solo-performance of renowned singer Deepali Wattal who rendered songs of Pt. Shad which mesmerize the audience.
The programme was compared by Kusum Ticku, member of Bhoorang foundation and vote of thanks was presented by Makhanlal Saraf, a renowned artist of the state.
