| Tara Chand, Sakina pay tributes to Dr Ambadakar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 25: "Best way to pay tributes to Dr B R Ambadakar is to follow his principles and mission to ensure over all development and upliftment of downtrodden," stated the Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand. He said that Dr B R Ambadakar has not only contributed in framing the constitution of the country which is most voluminous document of its kind in the world but has also a lot towards nation building in various fields, particularly in regard to upliftment of weaker sections of the society. He was the chief guest at a function organized by J&K Schedule Caste Welfare Association, Jammu to pay homage to Dr B R Ambadakar on his 119th birth anniversary here today. The Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo was guest of honour on the occasion. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the coalition government under the dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah is making all out its efforts to provide basic amenities to the people of the State at their doorsteps. He claimed that numerous welfare and developmental programmes are successfully being implemented in every nook and corner of the State to benefit the people at gross root level. Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo also paid rich tributes to Dr. B. R Ambadakar on the occasion and said that the coalition government is committed to provide justice to all and work for the welfare of the people living below poverty line. Several welfare schemes are being successfully implemented to bring under privileged section of the society at par with others. She said during the last 15 months an amount of Rs 3.50 crore has been distributed as financial assistance among the beneficiaries belonging to weaker sections of the society.
