"Mahajan Parivar Sammelan" held

Jammu, Apr 25: The Greater Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (GJCMS) today held an impressive function at Jammu Club here in connection with the annual "Mahajan Parivar Sammelan" in which the distinguished personalities from the community participated.
Minister for Revenue, Rehabilitation and Relief, Raman Bhalla, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Surjit Singh Slathia and NC Provincial President, Rattan Lal Gupta were among the chief guests who graced the occasion. Whereas, MLCs Subash Gupta and Naresh Gupta were the guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bhalla appreciated the Sabha for giving a platform to the community members to come together on a single platform. He also appreciated the contributions been made by the people from the community. Responding to the demands of the Sabha, the Minister asked the representatives of the community to submit him a formal application and assured to redress the same at the earliest.
Slathia also appreciated the efforts of Sabha office bearers in organizing such a get-together for the members of the community. He supported the demands of the Mahajan community and assured to take up the same with the concerned authorities. The NC Provincial President and the two MLCs also addressed the gathering. On the occasion, all the guests and some of the biradari members were felicitated for making valuable contributions at their levels. The members of the biradari felicitated included SE PHE K K Gupta, Ravi Rohmetra, Director Colleges Prof Sham Lal Gupta and Brig Anil Gupta. Earlier, the welcome address was presented by S P Langer while Kundal Lal Gupta, president, read the charter of demands that included amendment in act which prohibits members of Mahajan community (non-agrarian community) to purchase land more than four kanals, land allotment for constructing a community hall in Gandhi Nagar or adjoining area, inclusion of the poor members of the biradari residing in remote areas in BPL list, etc.
