JCUM calls for Jammu Bandh on May 1

JAMMU, Apr 26: Jammu Central University Morcha (JCUM) has given a call for Jammu bandh on May 1 to lodge protest against union government's decision to appoint a 'non-local' as Vice Chancellor of Central University, Jammu.
JCUM today categorically stated that no force on earth can defeat Jammu and anybody intriguing to let down Jammu will have to pay heavy price.
They accused and warned the vested interests and forces from within that are hell bent to weaken and spoil the sacred cause of Jammu.
Accelerating its movement for getting appointed the local Vice Chancellor for new Central University, JCUM leaders while addressing media persons here today gave call for Jammu Bandh on May 1 to lodge protest and resentment against government of India, if it continued to repeat its past follies of imposing outsiders including Kashmiris on prestigious assignments thereby ignoring, by passing and crushing the popular sentiments of Jammuites.
The leaders have take strong exception and note of the repeated move of government of India for appointing some outsider for this prestigious position despite the mounting pressure from Jammuites and observed that New Delhi seems, not to have learned any lesson from its past mistakes which could be disastrous.
They said that polluted mindset, partisan attitude and prejudicial approach of New Delhi towards Jammu, under the influence of 'Kashmiriat', is the root cause of all problems, miseries and hardships being faced by Jammuites.
Appreciating the overwhelming support extended by all Jammuites including students, Bar Association, Chamber of Commerce and even political parties to the cause, JCUM exhorted all people to rise on the occasion to display their unity and solidarity with the cause so that nefarious designs of anti- Jammu forces could be defeated.
JCUM disclosed that, in order to garner support for this cause, their leadership met and spoke with almost all social and political parties including BJP, Panthers and Jammu Member of Parliaments who assured all support.
Those who were present on the occasion including Rajinder Jamwal ( Peoples' Revolutionary Movement), Udhay Chand (Duggar Pradesh Party), Rampal (Dogra Liberation Front), Rajiv Chunni (SOS International), Kuldeep Chib (Jammu Joint Students' Federation), Jammu University Research Scholars Executive Association, Ram Rattan Raina (Sangram Sena) Capt Anil Gaur (Jammu State Morcha ) and Mohinder Singh Pandu.
