| Prof Baba, Dr Rakesh advance in TT | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 26: Prof PVKS Baba and Dr Rakesh Vaid of Department of Physics and Electronics advance into the next round of table tennis event in the three-day sports meet for officer and teachers of the University of Jammu which went underway today at Gymnasium Hall, here.
In the first singles, Dr Rakesh defeated Akash Bhola (AEE) of Department of Engineering in straight but close sets 11-8, 11-9. In the second match of the day, Prof PVKS Bawa of Physics and Electronics trounced Mandeep Singh of Department of Physical Education again in straight sets 11-6, 11-7. In badminton, Vikram Jamwal and Mandeep Singh of Department of Physical Education move into the second round. While Vikram beat Dr Rajinder Lal 21-16, Mandeep got walkover Pankaj Sasu.
Today's matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Sunaina Sharma, Bandana Sharma and Asha Rani.
