| Chib lays foundation stone of public utility service, sports ground | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 26: Minister for Technical Education and Sports, R S Chib today said that the Government is planning to construct stadia of international standards at Jammu and Srinagar to provide youth ample opportunities to participate in different sports activities and excel to face the competitions at global level. The Minister was addressing a large gathering at Gandhi Nagar after laying foundation stone of Rs. 12 lakh Shastri Nagar sports ground and Rs 25 lakh project of sulabh toilet complex at Apsara road Gandhi Nagar here today in presence of Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla. Chib said that J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) has been assigned the job of executing the project for infrastructure rehabilitation funded by Asian Development Bank. The Minister said that 25 pay and use public toilets are being constructed by ERA through Slubh International Social Service organization against a cost of Rs. 2.46 crore in Jammu city. Out of which, he said, 17 blocks have been completed and work on 5 blocks is in progress. Raman Bhalla in his address expressed gratitude to Prof. R. S. Chib for evincing keen interest in taking strong initiatives for construction and renovation of sports infrastructure in Gandhi Nagar constituency. He said steps are afoot to upgrade Dushera ground and make it a sports ground with latest facilities.
