Two held with over Rs 3 lakh fake currency

JAMMU, Apr 26:
Two car-borne persons were arrested along with Rs 3, 09, 500 fake currency notes near Kishtwar today.
Police sources said acting on a tip-off, a police team laid a naka on Jawalpur-Binjwan route in Kishtwar and intercepted a vehicle (JK06-3197).
Sources said during frisking, fake currency worth Rs 3, 09, 500 was recovered from the possession of two persons. The accused were identified as Manzoor Ahmed Keen, son of Aziz Mohammad Keen, of Bandwa and Mohammad Yousuf Chowhan, son of Chiryan Chouhan, of Mori, Kishtwar.
Sources said 209 notes were of Rs 1,000 denomination and 201 notes were of Rs 500 denomination.
A case under sections 489-B and 489-C of RPC was registered against them.
During their preliminary questioning, the accused revealed about their nexus within and outside the state, the sources added.
