JAMMU, Apr 27: A woman ended her life by consuming poison at her residence at Panjtirthi here late Monday evening. Police sources identified her as Mamta Verma, wife of Pawan Verma of Panjtirthi.
Sources said she swallowed poison at her residence at about 11.30 pm on Monday following which she was evacuated by her family members to the Government Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
Post-mortem was conducted on her body this morning. It was later handed over to her family members for last rites. Quoting family members, sources said she was married to Pawan about 10 years back, but had been living separately from him after few
months of their marriage.She was under mental depression and not keeping well, the sources added.
Police had, however, registered a case in this connection and launched inquest proceedings.
