| Bumpy rides again welcome Jammuites | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 28: Within days after completing the work of black topping of several important and busy city roads different agencies have once again started digging the freshly laid roads to complete their pending works. The indifferent attitude of the different government agencies towards each other and much hyped coordination is immediately exposed if one pays a cursory look over the nature of works carried out after the completion of the black topping of the roads across Jammu city In some places public health engineering, public works department, private telecom companies and ERA have started digging the roads in the absence of completion of works in different patches. Interestingly, several areas in the Jammu city which were still waiting for the roads and building department to complete the job of black topping of the roads have lost hope as authorities have shifted the focus of their attention on improving the road conditions in Srinagar and have almost wound up their ongoing works in the Jammu region. Starting from Kunjwani bypass via Satwari and interior roads linking Greater Kailash with Trikuta Nagar and Channi Himmat, parts of Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Old Rehari and Sarwal area, New Plot, Janipur, Roop Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Talab Tiloo, Narwal Bypass, Sidhra road, Bhatindi, Greater Kailash, area almost everywhere roads are in dilapidated condition and tall claims made by Minister for R&B simply fell flat in the deep pits visible in the middle of the road. The condition of the roads in RS Pura, Bishnah, Miran Sahib,Akhnoor, Muthi Domana are not too good as well. The worst sufferers are two wheeler owners as they not only run the risk of meeting an accident due to worse condition of the roads their vehicles with shock absorbers bore the maximum brunt and undergo repair due to regular wear and tear. The status of the roads in different housing colonies across Jammu is no good even though the Chief Minister never skip the opportunity of highlighting the fact that the road conditions are too good in Jammu and he had personally seen such good roads in Jammu for the first time. It appears either Chief Minister do not get regular feedback in the form of published media reports or officials are deliberately keeping him away from the ground realities.
