| Article 370 obstacle in employment in J&K: Manhas | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 29: The special status granted to the state under Article 370 is the biggest hurdle in creation of job avenues for the educated youth.
This was alleged by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President Shamsher Singh Manhas while chairing the meeting of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) at party headquarters.
Manhas said that incorporation of Article 370 in the Indian Constitution has in no way proved to be of any gain. It has proved to be harmful during all these years of independence. Although there can not be government job for every one, but the government can opt for other options available in order to ensure creation of more and more jobs in other sectors. He said setting up of big industries can provide jobs to thousands of youth.
While the private sector is flourishing in other states and providing jobs to the educated youth, here in J&K no industrialist or businessman can set up industry any where due to the obstacles created by Article 370, Manhas alleged.
He said special provisions and clauses incorporated in the constitution should be of some use but unfortunately this Article 370 has not served any gain to any one.
Reiterating party's demand to abrogate Article 370, the BJP Chief said that the youth of the state should openly come out against this status which is creating hurdles in attracting the big industrialists from outsider the state to set up industries.
He also criticized the NC-Congress for its failure to frame a clear cut youth policy aimed at proper adjustment of the educated youth, which has compelled them to leave the state to seek jobs.
Earlier, BJYM state president Munish Sharma briefed BJP state President about the programmes to be taken up by the morcha in the coming days.
He said that youth in the state is feeling insecure in absence of any jobs and is sitting idle after acquiring high educations. Sharma said the youth is the future of any nation, but in J&K the state government is even insulting them by providing jobs under various Rehbar Schemes on monthly emoluments less than what a labourer earns in 30 days.
He said the BJYM cadres are committed to raise the issues related to the youth and seek their solutions at the earliest.
