Crime Branch organises seminar on 'Drug Abuse'

JAMMU, Apr 29: The crime branch of J&K police organized a seminar on 'Drug Abuse' in collobration with Luthra College of education at Talab Tillo has today. Inspector General Police, crime Raja Aijaz Ali was the Chief Guest while Dy. Inspector police Yoginder Kaul was Guest of Honour.
Students and officers of crime branch who took part in the seminar spoke at length about the topic and according students of college Priyanka Gupta was adjudged best speaker, Shahid Hussian second best speaker and Meenakshi Manhas was declared as third best speaker in the seminar. Among others who also spoke in the seminor were Dr. Om Kumar spoke on the topic practical problems in de-addiction, Mrs. Pallvi Singh who Drug Addiction centre spoke on the topic social and Economic impact of drugs on society and Dr. Ranan zahoor Ahmed Medical superintendent Police Hospital Jammu spoke on the topic effects of drugs on the human body. While IGP Crime familiarized the audience about step being taken by the crime Branch to curb the meance of drug addiction and steps taken to destroy the poppy and cannabis crops in valley and other parts of Jammu division. He stressed upon the youth to remain away form the drugs because thousands of youths have destroyed their career once they are into the drugs. He stressed upon the girls to use their influence in the family to keep their relatives away form the drugs. He further said that Crime Branch is ready all the time to help people to fight menace of drugs. He also asked officers to remain pared to help needy people SSP Crime Branch Jammu presented the vote of thanks.
