4/29/2010 10:40:06 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 29: Sangarsh held a meeting of its core executives and unanimously passed a resolution to fight against the decision of Central government for imposing a person as the Vice Chancellor of the Central University, Jammu, who is 'tainted' and who has 'damaged' the vital roots of Jammu University for six years.
Sangarsh in a press statement issued after its meeting alleged that the movement has already fought the eight months battle against the misdeeds of former Vice Chancellor of Jammu University.
Sangarsh claimed that the issues that the movement raised during its eight months nonstop struggle and which were concluded in its document namely "justify the truth" include mismanagement of funds, academic disorder, the large number of backdoor appointments, making university as a platform for personal name and fame, giving affiliations to B Ed colleges owned by some influential quarters of the state, sources of income and expenditure of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Parameters for different extensions that took place in JU for the last few years in which only sycophants were given preference, Public money spent in the name of foreign collaborations and the outcome of it and many more.
Sangarsh further claims although all these above said points were verified by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report 2008-09 but no enquiry was set and constituted against the former Vice Chancellor of Jammu University who was responsible for this mess. It is very unfortunate that the report of highest screening body of India was not taken seriously by the policy makers and by the Government of India and any effort to appoint such person as the Vice Chancellor of the central University is just the insult of CAG report and the sentiments of number of people who dared to fight against these misdeeds, the spokesperson of the movement added.
The movement has warned the government that it will fight against this appointment with tooth and nails as the former Vice Chancellor is now the most hated person in Jammu who has encouraged the anti-national persons, vowed against the terrorists groups and represent the particular ideology having separatists tendency and the few sycophants who got personal benefits cannot save this man from the law of the land.
The prominent activists who were present during the proceedings include Mahesh Kaul President, Ranjeet Sharma Convener CAC, Meenakshi Anand, Vice President and Nitin Sharma Vice President.
