| Navy Chief inaugurates 15 bed pediatric ward | | | Hundwara, Oct 15 : Indian Navy Chief Admiral Arun Prakash today laid foundation stone of a pediatric medical Ward in District hospital Hundwara which is being built in the remembrance of the 20 fateful students, who died in Wular boat capsize on May 30, this year. Talking to the family members of deceased children, Navy Chief said, “We can not bring back the deceased children but yes we can remember them from the core of our heart”. He expressed his regrets for the tragedy and added that this 15-bed ward was being built in the remembrance of the departed souls. He assured that the ward, being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 cores, will be built in the span of one-year. The inmates of the deceased, however, demanded employment under SRO, which was announced by the state government in their favour. Ghlum Mouhi-ud-din Zargar, father of a deceased said, “We were assured by Navy chief that guilty would be dealt according to the law of land and compensation assured by Navy will be given to the families very soon.” On this occasion Medical Superintendent Dr Ghulam Nabi Lone presented a memorandum to Navy Chief. The Navy chief was accompanied by Minster of State for Public distribution and consumer affairs Taj Mouhi-ud-din, Duty Commissioner Kupwara, SP Hundwara, S S Dillion of 15 Crops and Goc 7 Sector were also present. |
