| Youth held with fake driving licences, stamps | | | JAMMU: A youth was today arrested by police from the regional transport office (RTO) at Nehru Market here along with fake driving licences and stamps, including that of a doctor. Acting on a tip-off, a police party led by Nehru Market police post incharge, sub-inspector (SI) Hilal Azhar laid a trap at RTO office and arrested the youth. The accused was identified as Anil Sharma of Khor. His accomplice, whom police sources identified as Harbans Lal, was absconding. He too hails from Khor. Sources said apart from fake driving licences, fake stamps, including that a non-existent Dr Harish K Sharma, were recovered from Anil. During interrogation, he told police that he charged Rs 2,500 per driving licence from the applicants, the sources added. He carried fake stamp of a doctor as it was required for the issuance of physical fitness certificates to the applicants. Sources said two licence forms of Amardeep of Railway Colony and Gurpreet Singh of R S Pura were also recovered from the accused. His sustained interrogation was on, the sources added.
