| Court issues summons against Aslam Goni | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 29: Nearly a week after the Court "temporarily" restrained Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) general secretary and treasurer from conducting the activities and using the funds, a local court today issued summons against JKCA, Mohammad Aslam Goni through SSP Jammu for execution to appear before it in person or through advocate on May 26 in a defamation case. Earlier, the court had restrained the general secretary and treasurer JKCA from conducting activities and affairs and using funds till April 27 in an application filed by Sandeep Gupta and others Vs J&K State Cricket Association & others for grant of temporary injunction. In two complaints filed by Ravinder Singh and Rakesh Kumar claims to be nominated as members of working committee from International Cricket Club Jammu against Mohd Aslam Goni, Special Mobile Magistrate Passenger Tax & Shops Act Jammu issued summon against Goni through SSP Jammu for execution to appear in the Court in person or through Advocate on May 26, 2010 for filling objections. In the complaints, it has been submitted that complainants received various calls from various quarters about the allegations imputed against the complainants by the Mohd Aslam Goni in the press conference dated November 4, 2009. The statement of the MA Goni used words before the press which affected the reputation of the complainants in the society which has resulted into the commission of offence of defamation against Goni is liable to be proceeded under the relevant provisions of RPC. It is worthwhile to mention here in the list of the witnesses the complainants mentioned the name of Dr. Farooq Abdullah presently Union Minister in the capacity of JKCA.
