| SP, BJP workers clash: 12 injured | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 29: Clashes today broke out between SP workers and BJP supporters in the communally sensitive Bhaderwah town of Doda district after state SP president lashed out at the saffron party in a public rally, holding it responsible for the Babri masjid demolition. At least a dozen persons, including two police personnel, were injured, police sources said. Sources said SP president Sheikh Abdul Rehman, while addressing a public rally in Seri Bazar of Bhaderwah, held BJP responsible for the Babri masjid demolition. When he said BJP's Hindutva agenda was dividing the country, Seri Bazar's pro-BJP shopkeepers took strong exception to his remarks and tried to disrupt the rally by countering Rehman. A clash then broke out with supporters of SP and BJP manhandling each other and resorting to stone-pelting. Police intervened soon and dispersed the agitated supporters of both the parties. Earlier, PSO of Rehman resorted to firing in the air and escorted the leader out of the scene. Sources said some of the injured were treated in the hospital.
