| Azad meets Union Tourism Minister, discusses tourism related matters | | Ambika Soni assures release of funds for tourism development authorities | | New Delhi, October 15 - Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad had a long meeting with Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Mrs. Ambika Soni here Sunday.
Chief Minister informed Union Tourism Minister that the tourism development authorities which have been established in the state under Prime Minister’s reconstruction plan have received great acclaim from the people from all nooks and corners of the state as the step is going to help explore rich tourism potential scattered in all areas in the state in a better manner for economic prosperity.
Mr. Azad urged Mrs. Ambika Soni for early release of funds to help build necessary infrastructure within the jurisdiction of these authorities across the state. He informed her that the state government has appointed chief executive officers for all the development authorities and equipped these with necessary staff so that the work of exploring tourism potential available within the jurisdiction of these authorities is speeded up. He also informed her that process of land acquisition and transfer of state land to these authorities, wherever necessary, is in fast progress.
Chief Minister said that adequate and timely release of funds by the centre for these tourism development authorities will accelerate pace of work and help to achieve the goal within the scheduled time period.
Mrs. Ambika Soni while appreciating state government’s efforts in quick establishment of tourism development authorities assured that all the projects submitted by the state government with respect to each authority will actively be considered within this week and funds released accordingly.
