| MLA Harsh clashes with IGP Armed over "trivial" issue | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 30: Panthers Party MLA Harsh Dev today entered into a verbal brawl with IGP (Armed) Dilbagh Singh, known as an ice cool man, over a "trivial" issue. The trouble started when Dilbagh objected to the playing of cricket by some boys in a park at Gandhi Nagar in the evening. The IGP repeatedly asked the boys to shift to some cricket ground as the ball hit by them was creating problems for the evening walkers. When the boys kept playing in the park despite his repeated requests, he asked his PSOs to snatch the bat and ball from them. Harsh's son was among the boys who were playing in the park. When PSOs took away bat and ball, the MLA got furious and entered into a verbal duel with the IGP. A scene was created at the park with Harsh saying that Dilbagh should be ashamed of his act. He told the officer that park was a public property which everybody had the right to use. The heated arguments lasted few minutes. When contacted, Harsh said the act of the IGP revealed how much endurance the JKP had. Dilbagh said he had simply asked the children to play in a cricket ground as their ball had hit evening walkers several times. The PSOs had snatched their bat and ball only after they refused to go, he added. |
