| Barber murdered, accused held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 30: A man, who was barber by profession, was today stabbed to death by two youth inside his shop at Rangpur Molanian in RS Pura, about 30 km from here. An old enemity was the reason behind the incident, police sources said. Sources said Darshan Lal was working in his barber shop at Rangpur Molanian when Gurbachan Singh and Ravi Kumar, both residents of Kotli Mirdhian, RS Pura, appeared on the scene. While Gurbachan carried a sharp-edged weapon, Ravi had a cricket bat with him. Sources said the duo allegedly attacked Darshan, inflicting serious injuries on him. When the barber collapsed on the ground, the duo fled the spot. He was evacuated by locals to the Government Medical College hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. After post-mortem, the body was handed over to his family members for last rites. He hailed from Rangpur Molanian. Sources said working under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura, DSP Gill, a police team led by RS Pura police station SHO, Inspector Gurmeet Singh later arrested both the accused from near Bishnah while they were planning to leave the area to evade arrest. The weapon of offence was also recovered by police at their instance. A murder case had been registered against them.
