| Sixth pay commission recommendation | | Shastri appeals to PM provide special funds. | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 1: President of National Mazdoor conference Subash Shastri, has appealed the Prime Minister to provide special package to Jammu and Kashmir and other re-source deficit states so as to meet the expenditure on account of 6th pay commission report in favour of their employees and pensioners. Addressing May Day Rally at Brahman Sabha here Today, Shastri pleaded that all sections of employees across the country should get full benefits of the sixth pay commission report and for this purpose the central govt. and planning, commission should find ways and means to provide special funds to the needy states. He also expressed his concern that the 13th finance commission did not address this demand of J&K added the centre should immediately come to rescue or J&K and announce a special package while finalizing the state annual plan for 2010-11. Describing the previous year as a year or working class Chief Minister took historic decision such as implementation of 6th pay commission report, release of 6% and 5% pending DA Installment due form January and July Last year, enhancement of wages of daily wagers form Rs. 70 to Rs. 110 per day and several other measures, He said this year should be the year of daily wages adding that their services should be regularized in one go. Other demands highlighted by Shastri on the occasion included release of wages of Motivators working in IWDP besides their regularization declaration of Jammu and Srinagar cities as B-1 Cities, Issuance of orders of 180 Daily wagers working in Rural Development Department, Conversion of COLA into DA of PSU employees, timely release of wages of daily wagers working in the various govt. Departments, he also demanded declaration of May day as national holiday under negotiable instrument act, enhance tax exemption limit form Rs.1.60Lacs to Rs.3 lacs and release of 8% DA to employees and pe4nsionsers. Among those who also addressed the rally included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Sham Lal Sharma, Bhupinder Singh, Kasturi Lal , Chaman Lal Bhagat, Sukh Dev Singh etc.
