| Girl falls to death from police building | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 1: An 18-year-old girl fell to her death from the third floor of a multi-storey police building housing quarters for non-gazetted officers (NGOs) at Gulshan ground here late last night. Police said Pooja was the adopted daughter of ex-serviceman Madan Lal Sharma and police Head Constable Radha Devi. Radha is alloted a quarter on the 3rd floor of NGO Block No 1, which has a balcony attached to it. Police said Pooja went to the balcony Friday at about 10.30 pm along with a bucket of washed clothes. While spreading the clothes on a rope, she lost balance and fell on the ground. Some cops, who saw her falling from the third floor balcony, informed her parents.The girl was then immediately shifted to the Government Medical College hospital here. Quoting doctors, police said she had sustained multiple fractures. She succumbed to her injuries at about 2 am. Post-mortem was conducted on the body in the hospital mortuary this morning. Later, it was handed over to her family members for last rites. The Nehru Market police post, under which the Gulshan Ground falls, had registered a case in this connection.
