| Mankotia for upgrading lab testing facility | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, May 1: MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia who is also Chairman, Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) Udhampur, has asked Medical Superintendent of the hospital to chalk out modalities for up-grading laboratory testing facilities on priority basis as patients in large number with serious implications could avail the testing facility within the hospital at nominal rates for specialized diagnostic treatment. The MLA was addressing a meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti held in District Hospital complex, here on Saturday to review the decisions of last meeting as well as chalking out modalities for future planning. Chief Medical Officer (Vice-Chairman), Medical Superintendent (Member-Secretary), ADMO (ISM), President Lions Club Udhampur, Engineers of PWD, PHE, PDD, was present in the meeting. Mankotia stressed the need for early construction work of Trauma Centre which has stood already approved by the Union ministry adding that first installment has also been released for the purpose. He instructed the Engineers of R&B department to initiate work with in week's time so that next installments could be obtained after the submission of utilization certificate to the concerned authority. During the meeting, the MLA also approved the installation of CCTV cameras at vulnerable sites of the hospital for monitoring and supervising the various units of hospital including casualty, OPD, Registration and different wards. He also called for raising volunteer donation to assist the Samiti in meeting the petty infrastructural requirements of the hospital. Other issues discussed in the meeting include up gradation of new OPD complex, up gradation of laboratory and blood bank, up gradation of X-ray section, Operation theatres, up gradation of emergency and casualty, Improvement of indoor complex and regularization of the vehicle traffic in the hospital complex. Later, Mankotia accompanied by CMO and Medical Superintendent had a visit of different wards of the hospital. He also enquired the health status of injured patients of Khagote accident and asked the hospital administration to provide them best medicare facilities.
