Bandh lays foundation stone of WSS, Parigam

Srinagar, October 15 - The Minister of State for R & B, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Mr. Mohammad Khalil Bandh today laid foundation stone of water supply scheme, Parigam Jagir. The scheme would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs.1.98 crore. On its completion about 8600 souls of Parigam Khalisa, Parigam Jagir, Parigam Raten, Peerpora , Urwon and New colony, Karewa would get safe drinking water. Rs.30 lakh have been released so far for the scheme. The work on the tube well would be started soon and the improvement and stabilization system of existing schemes would also be taken up.
Addressing a large public gathering at Parigam, the Minister said that after coalition government led by People’s Democratic Party took over a massive developmental programme was initiated in the state. He said that the great achievement of coalition government was to restore a sense of security among people..
The Minister said far-flung areas of the state having population of 500 souls would be connected with cities. He said that the work on the mecadamization of the Parigam road would be started soon. Mr. Bandh said that the upgradation and widening of the said road project has been already sanctioned.
On the occasion, several deputations met the Minister during his tour and apprised him about their problems including upgradation of High School, Parigam, ICD Centre to Sub-Centre and construction of residential quarters for the doctors of Primary Health Centre, Parigam. Mr. Bandh assured them that their genuine demands would be redressed in a phased manner.
Among others, Officers and engineers of the PHE department besides Zonal Presidents of People’s Democratic Party Mr. Abdul Razak Zawora, Mr. Mohammad Shaban Bhat, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Bhat and Mr. Ghulam Mohammad were present on the occasion.
Later, the Minister visited the residence of Late Mohammad Ibrahim Dar, Ex-MLA and expressed his sympathies with the braved family. He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
