| Jan distributes cheques to the newly formed SHGs | | |

POONCH, May 2: MLA Poonch, Aijaz Ahmed Jan, today inaugurated the training programme for the 'Swarojgaris' belonging to various Self Help Groups (SHGs) operational in the Mandi Block of District Poonch. On the occasion, Jan distributed cheques of the Revolving Fund to the newly formed Eleven SHGs in the block.
He asked the SHGs to take up the economic activity with dedication and follow the path of success adopted by highly successful groups like Amul, Lijjat Pappad et al. The camp, organized by the Community Development Block of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), was attended by a large number of 'Swarojgaris' hailing from Block Mandi. Aijaz Jan interacted with the SHGs and the individual beneficiaries under Swaranjayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY).
The group leaders of the SHGs also revealed the success stories of their respective groups. MLA was apprised of the fact that the SHGs have travelled a long way and they are self employed now and some of them have indulged into active sale of their manufactured products and their products are finding a good place in the market.
He directed Deepak Dubey, Block Development Officer, Mandi to ensure that such training programmes are also organized in the near future for the benefit of the beneficiaries and the schemes are implemented in much better ways..
In the same programme Jan also distributed TV Sets along with Dish Antennas to the Panchayat Ghars of Mandi Block. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure that the TVs are used for the public awareness purpose only.
Later, Jan inaugurated the 20 Bed ward in Community Health Centres (CHCs) at Mandi an impressive function.
