| HC issues notice to Registrar General for undue promotions | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 2: Justice Gh Hasnain Massodi in a petition filed by Pawan Kumar & Ors challenging the promotion of three Assistant Registrars-II High Court, Two Officiating Accounts Officers, one Protocol Officer all in the Gazetted cadre and one senior assistant, has issued notice to private respondents and Registrar General of J&K High Court. Adv Rahul Pant appeared for four promotes whereas Sr. Adv DC Raina caused his appearance on behalf of appellants, Court also discharged the caveat with the direction to list the case on next week.
Petitioners aggrieved of the notification No 76 dated April 25, 1987 and also aggrieved of order No 667 dated November 24, 2008 wherein respondents have been promoted illegally in derogation of guidelines framed vide order No 579 dated October 24, 2008 and challenged the same and seeking direction to the Registrar General of J&K High Court not to regularize the services of private respondents and also seeking quashmnet of the promotions private respondents made vide order No 667 dated November 24, 2008 with regard to the present status of their promotion and also seeking quashmnet of notification No 76 dated April 25, 1987 being illegal and arbitrary and issued without adopting any due procedure of law and also seeking issuance of writ of co-warranto as private respondents have entered into the High Court service by alleged backdoor mode appointment without any advertisement. ---JNF
