EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 3: Youth Movement For Peace (YMP) organized a 2-days awareness programme on Environment in Adarsh Shiksha Niketan (ASN) Higher Secondary School, Resham Ghar. In the awareness programme, a Painting Competition was organized with the aim of educating students about the environmental problems. The topic of the competition was "Stop Pollution, Save Environment". About 200 students participated in this painting competition. Different themes like Air Pollution, Noise Pollution, Global Warming, Deforestation, Energy Crisis and deny polythenes had been taken by the students in their paintings. Tanya Mehra, Nikhil, Abhishek and Sonia Bhalla got 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Consolation prize respectively in Junior Category while in Senior Category Renuka, Naina Mehra, Monika Meenia and Twinkle Sharma got 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Consolation prize respectively. Vikas Sharma (Chairman, YMP) was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He awarded the meritorious students and appreciated all the students for their performance and participation. Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said, "It is our key responsibility to save our environment and all of us have to pay our contribution in checking pollution to protect our future." He encouraged the students to participate in these kinds of competitions and awareness programs. PB Kapoor, Principal, ASN Higher Secondary School, appreciated this awareness program. Vikas Sharma (Chairman, YMP), Rekha Sharma (General Secretary, YMP), Ranjana Sharma (Vice Chairman, YMP), K L Koul, Vice Principal ASN Hr. Sec. School, were also present on this occasion.
