| Varun's hat trick guides Laxmi to 44 runs win | | 2nd Ashok Sodhi Memorial T-20 Cricket Tourney | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 3: Four-wicket haul by Varun, including a hat trick, today helped Laxmi Cricket Club (LCC) register a fine 44 runs win over Bawa Jitto Cricket Club (BJCC) in the ongoing 2nd Ashok Sodhi Memorial Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament at Parade ground, here. Batting first after winning the toss, LCC set a target of 154 runs losing six wickets. In reply, BJCC could not chase the total and bowled out for 109 runs. Sanjay was top scorer from LCC with unbeaten 39 (off 28 balls, 3x4, 1x6) while Manoj and Madan contributed 26 and 25 runs respectively. Kannu added 21 runs to the total. From BJCC, Shankar Dayal and Bhupinder took one wicket each. Later, chasing the target, BJCC lost all their wickets for 109 runs thereby lost the match by 44 runs. Bhupinder remained the maximum scorer with 32-ball 35 runs, followed by Lablu and Anil, who added 14 and 16 runs respectively. From LCC, Varun clinched four wickets for 13 runs in 3.1 overs and Puneet bagged two. For his match winning bowling spell, Varun was adjudged man of the match. ICC wins by 57 runs: In another match of the day, International Cricket Club (ICC) made it a big 57 runs victory over PCC. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, ICC made 152 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Atul was top scorer with 40-ball 55 runs including eight boundaries and a six. Rohit (20), Abhishek (17) and Robin (not out 15) were other main contributors to the total. Shamsher was most successful bowler with four for 35 in four overs. Deepu bagged two for 38. In reply, PCC failed to achieve the target when whole side bowled out for 95 runs. Sonu and Robin could not touch the double figure mark with 12 and 15 runs in their respective accounts. From ICC, Farooq took three wickets, followed by Rohit, Quaddir and Rajiv who shared two wickets each. For his match winning innings of 55 runs, Atul was declared man of the match. Today's matches were officiated by Sanjay Raina, Sadiq Malik and Rajesh Dhar while Raghav was scorer.
