RGPRS holds meeting

KATRA, May 3: A meeting of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan (RGPRS) was held at village Teerthi near Katra in Reasi district. The meeting was organised by RGPRS president Sardari Lal Dubey. Yash Pal Khajuria, Vice President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee was the Chief Guest and Amolak Singh General Secretary was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Khajuria said that central government led by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has launched many central schemes for the upliftment of rural area people and the NREGA is the most successful scheme throughout the country. He said that proper and speedy implementation of all schemes in villages will result in improvements of "Rural Infrastructure" and provide off-season employment to the needy unemployed rural population. Such schemes will also check the migration from villages to the urban areas. Amolak Singh and Sardari Lal Dubey in their speeches appealed to the workers of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan to gear up themselves for Panchayat Elections which are due and can be held at any time in the near future.
