| Grenade found near national highway at Samba | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU: A live Chinese grenade was Sunday recovered by an army patrol from near the Jammu-Pathankote national highway at Samba, about 50 km from here.
The grenade, said to be old and rusted, was found lying in bushes at Kaeli Mandi where an encounter had taken place between militants and security forces two years or so back.
Police said it seemed as if it was thrown by militants on security forces, but had remained unexploded. The troops came across it last evening while making routine searches in the area, police said. It was later defused.
