| 2 IED blasts rock LoC, jawan injured | | | JAMMU: Two improvised explosive device (IED) blasts today rocked the Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote sub-sector of Poonch. An army jawan was injured critically in one of the explosions. A powerful IED exploded near a pond at Kanga Gali in Balakote sub-sector at about 9.30 am. Hearing the big-bang, troops of 13 Dogra Regiment from the nearby Hamirpur Bn rushed to the spot and laid a cordon around the area. While the troops were making searches, another IED blast occured near the pond, causing splinter injuries to sepoy Daleep Kumar. After first-aid at Balakote, he was ailifted to the Command Hospital in Udhampur where his condition was stated to be out of danger. Police said the IEDs could have been planted by militants to target the routine army patrols in the area. Searches were intensified in the area as the presence of terrorists was not ruled out.
