| JMC for initiating immediate action against defaulter | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 4: With a view to keep Jammu city clean, Commissioner, JMC directed the staff of Enforcement wing to remove/Erase all such defacements painted /affixed on the public property and thereafter initiate action against the offenders.
A meeting of Officers of Jammu Municipality Corporation (JMC) was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner, JMC and it was discussed that large number of Commercial establishments has defaced the public property. JMC decided to initiate immediate action against the defaulters in accordance with J&K Municipal Corporation Act and J&K prevention of defacement of Public Property Act.
It was impressed upon that all traders/Commercial establishment may be restrained from defacing the public property to avoid penal action under law.
While continuing the anti encroachment drive the enforcement staff led by the Chief Enforcement Officer along with police force carried out the drive in the areas of Janipur, New Plot, Amphalla, Sarwal and Chinore.
During the drive the goods /articles like Weighing scales, Folding Beds, Benches, Counters, Boards etc were seized which were placed by the shopkeepers/ vendors on the footpaths, pavements and parts of roads.
Besides this the Enforcement wing also demolished a compound wall raised by encroaching a part of lane in Tawi Vihar, Sidhra, near Municipal Park.
