| Measures afoot for widening of Jammu Airport: Bhalla | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 4: Coalition Government is committed for proper rehabilitation of displaced persons whose land falls under expansion project of Jammu airport, car parking, widening of road, extension of runway and removal of obstructions, bottlenecks to ensure safe operation of Aircrafts situated towards river Tawi side besides land required for construction of terminal building and residential complex of Airport employees and security personnel stated Minister for Revenue and Relief Raman Bhalla . He said that 'it is the duty of the coalition Government to provide suitable land to the persons being displaced due to widening of Jammu Airport. He appealed the people to cooperate with Government agencies for ensuring provision of better infrastructural facilities to the visitors as well as passengers. While chairing a meeting of officers of various departments to discuss the land acquisition cases of 6.62 acres of State Civil Aviation land near existing temple side to expand the parking for five wide body aircrafts from the existing capacity of three wide body aircrafts. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Manoj K Dwivedi, Director Airport M Suresh, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Mubarak Singh and other senior officers of R&B, PHE, Revenue, Civil Aviation, PDD besides army and police were present in the meeting. Later, Bhalla also visited Bhour Kothey and Belicharana and inspected the sites for construction of public property there. The Minister while cautioning the officers against land garbing said that any trespassing with the public property shall be seriously viewed and asked the officers to erect fencing on the idle government land and safe guard other property.
